New Enhancements to CourseMill 5.0 LMS

Earlier this year, Trivantis released CourseMill Learning Management System 5.0, which makes the delivery, management, and tracking of online learning easy and affordable.

CourseMill 5.0 includes ecommerce functions, course curriculums, transaction and transcript reports, and more. Adding to these beneficial features, Trivantis made even more enhancements to CourseMill with the release of Service Pack 2 earlier this month. Users now have the ability to add credit hours for courses and curriculums and to select the currency of choice within your shopping cart.

For your convenience, CourseMill 5.0 is available in both software and hosted solutions. Both versions enable you to customize the interface to match your company's branding and/or the look and feel of your courses.

Publishing to iPhone and iPod Touch will be available this summer and current 2008 users will receive this feature free of charge with the Lectora Maintenance Track!

This year’s conference also featured an Ideas Worth Stealing competition for attendees to submit their best course creations. A panel of judges awarded Dave McIntyre from Beckman Coulter a $500 prize for submitting the best elearning course. Congratulations Dave!

Learn New Lectora Skills at an eLearning Guild Online Forum

Learn more about authoring tools and take your Lectora skills to the next level by attending the eLearning Guild Online Forum "Selecting, Combining, and Using Authoring Tools" on June 5 and 6. This Online Forum looks at different ways to select, combine, and use multiple authoring tools to create a variety of eLearning. Two of the sessions in this series focus on the use of Lectora with other tools such as Flash.

During the online forum, be sure to attend "Best Practices for combining Flash, Illustrator and Photoshop with Lectora," which addresses the common issue of needing to use many types of media when developing eLearning. Attendees will learn how Flash can “talk” with Lectora and also learn techniques for using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator with Lectora.

In addition, attendees can also learn about gaming in elearning at "Serious Games Development Using Lectora, Flash and Maya." This session will provide an informational overview and working samples of how Lectora is used to develop and integrate Serious Games into courseware.

To attend these sessions and other presentations at the eLearning Guild Online Forum, please register here. Costs to attend vary based on your membership level, but you do not need to be a member to attend.

Lectora Tips and Tricks

Protect Your Published Content
When publishing your title to HTML, you can now prevent your content from being copied and from enabling users to view the HTML source for Web-published titles. When this option is checked during publishing in Lectora 2008, users are unable to access Clipboard functions and right-click context menus

Create Custom Certificates
Lectora 2008 users can quickly and easily add custom certificates for tests and course completions. Simply go to your tools menu and click on Certificate Tool to begin creating your certificates.

Save Time Creating Multiple Choice Questions
To save time when entering your choices in a multiple choice question, enter your question as a fill in the blank type and enter ‘all choices’ in the possible answer box. Change your question type to multiple choice question type afterwards and you’ve just created your multiple choice question in seconds (this will only apply if feedbacks are not provided on an individual basis)!
